Summer Programs

The children who attend Camp Migdal are lower functioning where full integration in a typical camp would not be feasible or beneficial to them. The severity of disabilities necessitates a ratio of 1.5 counselors per camper. Camp Migdal staff includes Board Certified teachers, educational & therapeutic directors, and a full onsite medical team. Each of our campers return home after the summer demonstrating increased skills and behavior modifications, leading to happier, healthier, children and families.

Extended Summer Program

During the interval between the end of camp and school, families are busy getting their children ready for the new school year. The extra attention required by the child with special needs is stressful for parents, and for siblings who may need more of their parents' focus at this time. The Extended Summer Program makes a significant difference to the families and eases the transition home for the child with special needs.

Year Round Programs

Support Groups Seminars & Events

Menucha Services offers support groups, seminars and social networking events for families away from the stress-filled home environment. Menucha Services arranges entertainment-filled cruises and night events for parents of children with special needs, where they can meet, share experiences, and provide each other with support and friendship.

The children stay with volunteer hosts away from home, providing weekend and special occasion respite to their families, enabling parents to focus on the siblings and recharge their energy, promoting a healthier family life.

BIY (Bi-Lingual Yiddish)

Menucha Services coordinates special education programs within public schools throughout Brooklyn, NY staffed by certified Heimishe staff and teachers.

Family Retreats

Throughout the year Menucha Services provide families with a desperately needed breather, namely weekend/Shabbatons away from home, while the child, with special needs, is cared for by a volunteer host. This has proved to be a major reprieve for parents.
